Microblading aftercare is an important part of the healing process for your eyebrows. It helps prevent scarring, infection and pigment loss.
You should follow your artist’s aftercare instructions closely to make sure you get the most beautiful results possible. This is because this treatment has a significant impact on your skin’s appearance, so you want to be sure that it heals properly and looks natural.
During the first seven days after your microblading procedure, itching and flaking may occur. Itching is a sign that your brows are starting to heal, so you should be careful not to touch them. If you pick at them, the scabs can fall off without you knowing and rip some of the color pigment.
When you see itching or flaking, apply a small amount of ointment to the area and rub it in gently. You should also moisturize if your artist says you should. Don’t use a lot of ointment as this can cause your brows to look greasy and might interfere with the natural healing process.
Once your brows have healed, you should wash them with clean water twice daily and pat them dry. You can even wear a clean towel to protect your new brows.
Then, you should take a clean cotton swab and apply a thin layer of ointment to your brows. This ointment is supposed to act as a barrier against contamination and help your skin heal better.
You can apply makeup to your brows after they’re healed, but only after you’ve brushed them clean and dried them. You can also moisturize them with facial oils or a cream that was recommended by your artist.
It is very important to avoid activities that can irritate your microbladed eyebrows during the first few weeks of aftercare, as these can mess up the pigment. Try to stay away from steam baths and conditions that could make you sweat during this time, such as exercise or hot showers.
After you’ve cured for 30 days, you can start applying sunscreen to your brows to prevent fading. This is because the pigment can fade more quickly under direct sunlight.
In the first few days after your microblading session, you’ll be very nervous and excited about how your brows will look after they’ve healed. It’s normal for your brows to look thicker and darker than they were before, but you should not feel anxious because this is how the healing process works.
The best way to know if your brows are completely healed is to see your artist for a touch-up after about 6 weeks. This appointment is the perfect opportunity to change anything you’d like, whether it be a change in shape or color.
A touch-up is usually scheduled once a year, but your artist may recommend more or less frequent touch-ups depending on your skin type and if you want to maintain the brow shape and color. It is also a great chance to make any adjustments you might need before the next round of appointments.
